		<description>All good advice (although if you know what you&#039;re doing, local food can be wonderful in Asia), but if all else fails, Immodium or Lomotil can be lifesavers if the dreaded lurgy strikes! They are not cures but have the effect of stopping residual strong adverse reactions to the bugs (ie they block you up) and give your system the chance to recover naturally.

I&#039;ve spent quite a few years in Asia, and the time-honoured cure in India was black tea (to keep up your fluids) and dahi (curd or plain yoghourt) until you felt like taking some plain food!
