Getting Colds from Bad Airplane Cabin Air?

OK, I confess, I used to get pretty weirded out by the confined space in airplanes, especially when the guy behind me was hacking, wheezing and spraying ugly germs throughout the cabin. Ugh!

I would literally hold my breath for as long as I could and hope like heck that by the time I gasped for air that the contaminants had settled to the floor.

Despite my efforts, I almost invariably ended up with a cold everytime I travelled, especially during winter and despite my immune-system building efforts prior to travelling.

Now here’s a point, as an ex-air traffic controller, I know a lot of pilots - and they get more colds and flu than anyone - despite the fact that the air is better up at the front of the cabin than it is in the back.

Anyway, I finally decided to try a personal air purifier - and you know what - it seems to work! I haven’t had a cold since I got mine a couple of years ago - not since suffering 7 grueling hours on a trip from Lima to Newark with a cold that I picked up on the way down.

We found that Sharper Image offers the Ionic Breeze Personal Air Purifier for a very reasonable price.

If you’re freaky about other people’s germs - I highly recommend that you get the Ionic Breeze  personal air purifier, and start protecting yourself against those nasty colds!
