Would You Redeem Airline Rewards Points to Buy Carbon Offsets?
Posted May 6, 2008 by Rosalind Gardner · Filed Under Adventures, Points & Rewards, Travel Tips
Let’s face it, flying adds carbon dioxide CO2 to the atmosphere which contributes to climate change.
In addition to reducing the number of times we fly every year, Ed and I also like the option of being able to reduce our footprint by purchasing and/or redeeming Aeroplan rewards points for carbon offsets.
“Gifts” for Damon
Posted March 1, 2008 by Rosalind Gardner · Filed Under Points & Rewards
Before leaving Sun Peaks Resort for Vancouver, Damon stopped by our room in the Sundance Lodge to say goodbye … and to relieve our room of all possible freebies.
Although the latter was probably not his intention, when he and Andrew - world champion Points, Rewards & Freebies collectors - get together, talk tends to action.

Note: This epidsode takes place after the shampoo, soap, shower cap, Coffee Mate, sugar, salt, pepper, tea and Equal are already in his pocket…

Travel Points: Use ‘Em or Lose Them
Posted February 8, 2007 by Ed Szajniak · Filed Under News, Points & Rewards
In an effort to cut costs many airlines are changing their policies regarding frequent flier miles. We are members of Air Canada’s program called Aeroplan . The airline changed there policies this January, read the details in our post.
Members whose account are inactive for a defined period will lose their points. Some airlines will let you buy back your points for a fee. Seems ridiculous buying back what you already own.
You can keep your account active by making a transaction at stores that are affiliated with the program.
For details on the terms of different carriers see this article in USA Today

Ed and I have both used CIBC Aerogold® Visa cards for years to earn Aeroplan miles on Air Canada. Collecting mailes has paid off BIG time as we take a least one major trip per year on our cards.
In fact, I was one of those really irritating people who would pay for a $1.50 coffee (when coffee used to be $1.50) with my credit card. It’s good to see that lots more people are earning mileage on the ‘little’ items too.
Today we learned that the Aerogold program has been enhanced with Read more
