Can You See the Menu?

Is it just my imagination, or is the print on menus getting smaller or are restaurants saving money by eliminating illumination?

With our old(er) eyes, Ros and I were frustrated when we couldn’t tell whether the menu item was Braised Beef or Poached Pears. Setting fire to the menu doesn’t help either.
